That all some of these guys do. the actually Never play. all they do is hoard... that's why I originally wanted it so you could only buy so many till getting rid of or using them. But Arenanet didn't go for it... Still the Sole reason the prices are back up there is the hoarders hogging all the items and NOT using them, or selling back to NPCs. they did it for the sole reason to protect their precious market. When NO ONE sells to NPCs the price never comes down. and that's just wrong. Cause these people in turn go and sell their gold to Gold Retailers for Cash. That's how those companies work. so every time you buy from a player instead of a NPC you are supporting cheaters. FACT!!! There are a few legitimate dealers but not many. 80% are nothing more then Gold suppliers for those kinds of operations that sell in game gold to CHEATERS. Most of these people doing this do not even play the game all they do is this. thus destroying the game further. I'm not surprised these kinds of operations have shown up in every game of its kind in existence... but no one cares. why should they... they don't give a shit for anything, or respect anything, so why should anyone expect anything from them. the kinds of people that play these games are as worthless as humans as they come. I am one of them I should know. The best thing we could do for society as a whole is cut our reproductive organs off our bodies and discontinue our waste of gene pull for the future. cause the fact that people like this can procreate, is the worst thing I can imagine for the future.

Well, I was pretty happy after I got oyut of Tombs to sell soem steel and I saw Ecto for 230g, I already had the elementalists fissure boots and leggings, but I got the materials to finish the set (20 shards and 39 ectoplasms) for about 10k, then Europe took the favour and I formed a good group went straight in there and got the rest of the aeromancer set

Now my inventory is full of stuff (five sets of armour and five sets of wands/artifacts) and I'm happy.

I kind of feel I deserved it anyway after finishing the Fissure and Undworld soooooo many times (well, I've never actually got to the Spawning Pools reaper, but hey).

There will be a few thousand people who may become veery rich now though. What will people do with their millions?

Bah to bad I missed out on the insane deals.. DOH! Oh well I'm no worse off than I was I guess. I got lucky when steel glitched and I was able to make a couple hundred thousand thou there was a couple items I've been waiting to buy Black Dye being one of them I would've liked a few for color customizations to items and armor and I was looking forward to the E/MO UW/SOLO build so I needed all the superior Ele runes I wonder what they are sitting at. not to meantion ecto and shards would be nice for a full set of FOW armor I have the FOW helm for my warrior and thats all I want for him but I would like the full elementalist set.

win some, lose some! Does this make you worse off than you were? I doubt it, prices were just as high before and I bet the prices will even out as everyone now wants to sell back to the trader with their increased purchase power if the traders buying items that cost 3.5k at 3k to make a quick profit.
There will be a few players that will be hoarding item for awhile but If they dont act soon with those items I bet you'll get burnt in the end... well maybe i wouldn't say burnt but instead of selling something back to the trader at 30k now I bet it will only be 25k in a week then 20k two weeks and so forth until it evens out. especially with Europe/Korea/USA all distributing the same items and prices. things will move a lot faster now i Bet..

And yes I bought things for Myself for Equipping. But not for reselling. I give up on the community as a whole. its worthless and should be discarded as a legitimate trade system.. Why? cause it doesn't exists. the trade button Should be removed. completely. Purchase and sell only to NPCs and then you have a fair market. But this will NEVER happen.

uhm... I dont know about you guys but dosnt Anet work with ppl who got a life? So they bring in their updates during their working hours. If they work in Amerika, well lucky americans, cuz they get to see the new update first. Its not like they all work at midnight just to make the europeans happy.

What they should've done is reset the prices to something reasonable, say 8k for an ecto, or 3k for black dye. Under 1k gold for an ecto is just absurd considering how much profit can be made so quickly.

The people that missed this ARE worse off. The ones who caught this become filthy rich with gold. They can then spend their gold carelessly on items that were not incredibly special before. For example,

Player A has Item X
Player B, C, and D want Item X
Player B and C are both incredibly rich because they were able to catch the traders at low prices
Player B and C can affoard to pay more and more as they each keep outbidding each other
Player D has less gold, and can spend less, so can not get an item he would've been able to before the change.

I honestly don't understand what you're trying to say here. How did trying to fix the economy make it easier to get a weapon that only comes from drops (or player trades of course)? I can see how it might be easier to get the materials for fow armor, but then again I don't pay much attention to that (don't really care for the "fow" look).

You have millions? I had 10k before the change. I spent it mostly on runes I needed and some dyes I wanted. I now have nothing - which btw is fine with me - I'll make it back eventually. I guess my problem is I play the game, not the market. If you want to give me some of your millions, I won't turn it down.

Well I'm not an economist but why can't they just make traders with endless supplies of items at fixed prices? I'm sure there'd be some problem economically that I don't get but why not like 10k for all sup runes except maybe a lil more for absorbtion and vigor and set prices for dyes, materials and everything. That way you'd have a goal to shoot for and once you reached that amount of cash you could get what you'd been saving for. Also, when you got a good dye drop or something, you'd know the value. You'd know how much the trader will take for it and you'd know how much you could try to sell it to people for. I just get frustrated with all the get rich quick scams that accompany this wildly swinging economy. It's hard to feel good about working for hours and days saving up cash for something (my FoW armor) only to find that while you were gone the economy went crazy and tons of people made more in 5 minutes than I have in a month. I got taken on the steel glitch too. Yeah life's not fair, it's just a game, but at this point I'm bout to say to %!?* with farming and PvE and just go PvP all the way.

I sure hope your being sarcastic, after all everyone kept saying "fix the econ, we want cheap as free stuff now!"... they never gave Anet a suggetion on how to fix the econ (that would not result in lower prices)... nor did anyone give a time and date, so how were they supost to know little Timmy was AFK for an hour and would miss the big gold rush...

It's so good to know that anet if doing something about the economy, and I think this is a step in the right direction. With more stable traders making it worth while to sell to the npc again which in theory will cause the sell price to be lower over all and synch all three worlds to the same economy removes the cross server market and much much larger base for prices.

I too wish I could of joined in the buying frenzy but doesn't bother me, this is a game. I know that if they succeeded in droping the value of everything and keeping it there, the traders (not taking npc here) are going to make less money, harder to sell stuff for too much money and generally voice there dislike but I personally think if Anet makes the economy less likely to go out of control so we can concentrate on the playing the game and making it easier to get equipment and stuff

Time will tell if this holds true but even if it's makes the situation better then it was and not to the extent they wanted I'm very happy.

Black dye is 7k, silver is 1.3k, shards are 5.5k, ecto is 9k, sup. vigor is 55k, sup. absorption is 85k, you can only buy earth, fire, water, and expertise out of all the other superiors. Hopefully prices will stabilize, but, given ANet's explination of the new system, I don't think it'll help things in the long run. What we need is an objective standard.

I'll repeat that, because I think it's important.
